Location: Argentina (remote).
Type: Full-time.
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Patent Linguist/Translator to join our team. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality patent translations and linguistic review while acting as a key point of contact for assigned accounts.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical translation expertise with excellent review, coordination, and communication skills. You will play a critical role in ensuring linguistic quality, consistency, and efficiency across projects, while collaborating with internal teams, freelancers, and clients.
Main Responsibilities:
- At least 3 years of experience in patent translation for Electricity, Computer Science, Chemistry, or Biology fields.
- Performing copy-edit tasks on assigned projects or accounts.
- Performing on-demand translation tasks.
- Performing the lead linguist role on assigned accounts.
- Taking ownership of internally or externally translated deliveries into their target language for one or more accounts.
- Preparing, managing, and maintaining the language materials (including glossaries, Style Guides, and work instructions) up to the quality standards and up to date as required by the account or project.
- Managing project-related queries.
- Ensuring good interaction among team members and resolving questions on terminology and language matters.
- Coordinating with freelancers, agencies, and internal linguists on assigned projects or accounts.
- Testing and qualifying new freelancers and vendors as required.
- Developing and training of internal linguists and new or existing freelancers according to the accounts’ and client’s needs.
- Interacting with clients on linguistic matters as required.
- Participating in the development of new and improved working processes. Proposing process improvements.
- Meeting or exceeding the KPIs in terms of productivity, on time delivery, and quality.
- Achieving the goals set by the team manager.
Requisitos
Requirements:
- Native fluency in the target language and full professional proficiency in English.
- 8+ years of experience in translation, localization, or linguistic review.
- 5+ years of experience in reviewing/editing content.
- At least 3 years of experience in patent translation, ideally within:
- Electricity
- Computer Science
- Chemistry
- Biology
- Strong understanding of the localization lifecycle and QA processes.
- Experience coordinating linguists and external vendors.
- Excellent terminology management skills.
- Proven ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
Tools & Technical Skills
- Proficiency in CAT tools such as XTM and SDL Trados Studio.
- Familiarity with issue tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and standard business tools.
- Ability to quickly learn new localization technologies.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience working in an IP law firm or with patent-related content.
- Experience interacting directly with clients on linguistic matters.
- Background in technical or scientific fields

Education
- Degree in Translation, Linguistics, Applied Languages, or related field.
- Alternatively, a degree in another field plus relevant translation experience.
