About the Role

We are seeking a vendor manager to manage and maintain relationships with over 300 interpreting, translation, and localization service providers. This role is responsible for onboarding, training, monitoring, and negotiating with vendors to ensure high-quality services for our clients, maintain compliance with company standards, and support smooth operations.

As a vendor manager, you will be the key point of contact for vendors, ensuring they are well-equipped to deliver services efficiently and in alignment with client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Vendor Onboarding: Qualify new vendors and maintain profiles in operations software, including qualifications, rate cards, and other relevant information.
  • Training & Ongoing Support: Train vendors on company tools, processes, and payment procedures; answer questions and redirect inquiries to appropriate teams when needed.
  • Performance Monitoring: Collect feedback from operations teams, evaluate vendor performance, and meet with vendors as needed to ensure service quality.
  • Compliance & Ethics: Ensure vendors adhere to service agreements, client requirements, and company policies; investigate violations, facilitate corrective actions, and deactivate vendors when necessary.
  • Vendor Recruitment: Identify and establish relationships with new vendors through databases, recruitment lists, and marketing campaigns.
  • Rate Negotiation: Communicate with vendors to establish and adjust payment rates, ensuring alignment with company and client requirements.

Requisitos

Qualifications

  • Experience: 1–3 years in vendor management, contractor management, or similar roles (preferably in translation/localization services).
  • Additional Training/Experience: Customer service skills, experience with interpreting/translation management systems, and crisis communication/de-escalation principles.
  • Availability to work 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM PST.

Skills & Competencies

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, Teams)
  • Experience with DLCMS, Interpreter Intelligence, Plunet, MemoQ, or similar vendor management tools
  • Strong problem-solving and time management skills
  • Ability to delegate tasks and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • General office skills (phone systems, copier/scanner, basic IT troubleshooting)

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and training to vendors
  • Independently evaluate vendor performance, with input used by team members to determine utilization of services
