The Hebrew Linguist performs quality control, transcreation and on-demand translation tasks on assigned accounts/projects. The role also involves coordinating the activities of a team of translators (internal and/or freelance) to ensure high-quality output delivered on time and in line with established standards. Additionally, ensures that the Language Process is being followed by the project team.

Responsibilities:

The following is a non-exhaustive list of responsibilities and areas of ownership for this role:

  • Perform copy-edit tasks on assigned projects or accounts.
  • Perform on-demand translation tasks.
  • Perform lead support on assigned projects or accounts.
  • Maintain and manage language materials, including glossaries, style guides, and work instructions, ensuring they meet quality standards and remain up to date as required by the account or project.
  • Manage project-related queries.
  • Ensure good interaction among team members and resolve questions on terminology and language matters.
  • Test and qualify new freelancers and vendors as required.
  • Develop and train internal linguists/new and existing freelancers according to the accounts’ and the company’s needs.
  • Interact with clients on linguistic matters as required.
  • Participate in the development of new and improved working processes.
  • Meet or exceed the productivity KPI.
  • Achieve the goals set by the Squad Lead.

Requisitos

Requirements:

Education

  • University degree in Translation/Applied Languages and related experience as translator and/or reviewer of 3+ years

Experience:

  • Native fluency in Hebrew language.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Thorough understanding of the localization process.
  • Good user experience of standard software, such as Windows and Office applications.
  • Good user experience of standard CAT tools, such as XTM and SDL Studio, as well as issue tracking and query management tools like JIRA.
  • Ability to learn new localization tools and applications quickly.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of terminology used in two or more subject matters.
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to give clear, concise and constructive feedback.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and linguists.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability and willingness to train or teach others and pass on knowledge.
  • Ability, willingness, and experience in communicating positively with customers at various levels.
  • Ability to work within a virtual team.
